How did Gender Amplified start?

Gender Amplified started as a senior thesis project by our founder Ebonie Smith in 2007. Check out this blog post to read the full story!

How do I get involved as a producer?

Please send us a link to your music, a bio and high resolution photo to producers@genderamplified.org. We’d love to get you involved in any upcoming beat cyphers, online profiles or help promote you via our monthly newsletter!

I am a beginner. How do I get started with the basics of music production?

Welcome to this wonderful world of sound making! We’re excited to have you join us! Check out this blog post to learn more about how to get started making tracks!

Are there Gender Amplified chapters in other U.S. states?

At the moment, Gender Amplified, Inc. is based in NYC and hold events exclusively in the northeast. However, we hope to have events coming soon to other locations!

What will my donation be used for?

The funds we collect from donors go toward our events programming. Many of our panels, workshops and school seminars are free to attendees. However, there are always programming costs associated with curating our events. Your funds help to offset these costs.

I’m a guy, but I really believe in the mission of Gender Amplified. How can I help and be involved?

Our male allies are welcome and very important. Sign up for our newsletter and come to our events! If you know any women in music who we can profile, send us their info at producers@genderamplified.org. If you’re a producer or engineer, become a mentor! Email us at mentors@genderamplified.org to learn how.
