WHAT WE DO

Gender Amplified is a non-profit organization that aims to celebrate women in music production, raise their visibility and develop a pipeline for girls and young women to get involved behind the scenes as music producers.

The movement also connects passion for music with technical skills that can be used in a wide range of scientific and arts based fields, areas in which women are traditionally underrepresented.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Gender Amplified movement is to provide a platform for the promotion and advancement of women in music production and to identify and motivate the next generation of women music producers. By organizing public events that foster healthy dialogue about the role gender plays in the music making process, Gender Amplified endeavors to give voice to a subculture of women and gender non-binary people who are using music technology to create their own music and perpetuate their unique identities.

CORE GOALS

  • 1

    Network Building

To develop a national network of women music producers by creating and maintaining a website that archives their stories, production resources, and contact information.
  • 2

    Gender Inclusivity

To foster communication between women and men in music production, identifying our allies who are men and male-identified.
  • 3

    Event Curation

To produce community events that highlight the works and accomplishments of established women producers and interest girls in pursuing careers in music production and related fields.
  • 4

    Create Safe Spaces

To construct and support safe production studio environments where girls and women can learn music production from their peers and renowned industry professionals
  • 5

    Address STEM & STEAM

To assess the impact learning music production has on women’s success in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects and related fields
