Beat Battles

Hi everyone! My name is Katherine Huet. I am a junior at Barnard College. I am currently studying music and I really enjoy performing. It’s what I know best, but I’m quickly learning how much can be done within music. Unfortunately, our music department stays mostly within the classical realm and that is why I have recently enjoyed learning how to use Garageband. It’s given me an opportunity to start exploring different sounds and textures. I’ve still got a lot to learn and a long way if I decide to get serious with production. However for all the producers who are ready get out there and share their music in a more competitive environment, I have something for you! Below is a list of beat battles in the NYC area, but also in different parts of the country for those who may not be so nearby. If it interests you at all, I encourage you to take a chance and try one (or more)! I hope this list is helpful and I can’t wait to meet some of you at the festival later this month.
